Designed In collaboration with A I M Studio, Maya is a wall sconce that explores the tension between appearance and reality, drawing inspiration from the philosophical concept of the "veil of Maya" by Arthur Schopenhauer. In his vision, the veil obscures the true nature of things—a metaphor that comes to life in this sculptural light piece. Crafted from solid brass, aluminum, and textured glass, Maya offers a layered interplay of materiality and illumination. Two distinct light sources—a warm LED and the gentle flicker of candlelight—merge behind a translucent veil of glass. The result is a subtle, ever-shifting ambiance that invites contemplation and quiet attention. The glass, like Schopenhauer’s veil, conceals as much as it reveals. What lies behind it—technology and flame—blends into a singular presence, both contemporary and elemental. Maya is not just a lighting fixture, but a meditation on perception, duality, and the hidden layers of truth that light can gently unveil.
